RobotLegs Plugin / Component 'Repository'
Hey Chaps,
I've been thinking about the possible need for a website which hosts user generated services, components and other such "plugins" which can be downloaded and reviewed by members of the community in a similar vein to CakePHP's Bakery.
If you feels there's a use for such a site then I would be happy to help create it! :)

There is definitely a use for such a site. The current robotlegs.org is poorly set up for any dynamic content. It is a static github page. I've been exploring other solutions. Frankly I'd like to emulate what Ruby on Rails has done with their site:

Clean, informative, and generally excellent with a lot of parallels to what robotlegs is trying to accomplish (albiet in an entirely different space).

If I wanted to start hammering out some code for such a project, what lang should I be working in? PHP, Python?

Would you be down for RoR? Certainly not PHP. I have Python/Django in my toolkit, but I'd like to explore Rails ;)

RoR? I've not used it before, but sure :)
So I guess the first step would be to mirror the existing site in RoR and look to getting that hosted. Does the current RobotLegs.org site have hosting for RoR apps?

Made a repo. We should probably sit down and figure out a plan/structure/outline for what needs to be accomplished.
Design is a real concern that I have. The current design makes a decent base, but is extremely deficient in a lot of areas (namely navigation)

Sounds like this thread could be a good discussion area for those who want
to get involved. We should probably make a list of websites / project
homepages to use as inspiration, critiqueing what we like, and dislike about
each?

I am down for helping out where ever, design, layout, etc. I have 0 experience with RoR, but willing/wanting to learn.
